My Social Media Exepertise

If there is always more than one way to do something, how do you know what the best way to do something really is??? The answer to this question is obviously subjective and every individual may answer it differently.

I would say the answer may be: There are as many ways to do something as there are people to do it.

It might be true, and if it were, what would be the result of that? Chaos perhaps.

What does this have to do with Social Media because there are obviously not as many ways to do social media as there are people to do it.

Free social media outlets are everywhere (on the internet) and provide a variety of platforms to carry marketing and advertising for any type of business or individual.  I’m using social media as both a business platform as well as a personal comedy tool to make me laugh. Twitter, Digg, Facebook, Ning,YouTube, Google, Yahoo, Myspace and more.

EyeGlobe Burns Contract

Wonders if it was even legal…can’t stop laughing.

Signing an agreement to start a company and develope a web site is one thing.  Sitting around afterwards and waiting for people do something is another thing.

Spending your own money and waiting for the “partner” in the agreement to step up and add something to it is anotherthing as well.

Is it really a partnership if you are the only one spending money?

Alter Ego Social Network Project – Analytics update

I’ve started submitting the site to some other blog pages to see if the site takes off.  I will post updates if anything happens.

This is the status of the site as of this morning.

Social Networking As a business

If your goal is to create a new Social Network (or maybe a bunch of them), becoming a social networker seems like the logical thing to do (in my mind). – If  you disagree, tell me why.  I’m interested in hearing the reasoning.
The question I started asking myself is “how easy would it be to create a an actual Social Network.  Is it so easy that a kindergartner could do it?”
Turns out the answer is probably NOT: “Yes – it is so easy that a kindergartner could do it”  But maybe a fourth grader could.  Are you smarter than a fourth grader?  I’m a NOT good comedian so I always make jokes like that.
The Alter Ego Social Network project is a test implementation for creating a social network.  The hope is that it is a success which will lead to more opportunities to developed similar if not completely different types of social Networks.
The experiment been underway for just about a week and so far, this is the only serious source of information about it
In the past week, I have signed up for accounts on the following sites.
facebook.com, myspace.com, twitter.com,  google.com, amazon.com, youtube.com, ning.com and some other sites.

Maybe I have over did it.

This weekend I created the Alter Ego Social Network so I could learn how to use Google Analytics.  Turns out that Google Analytics isn’t that difficult to learn and I might have over did by creating www.alteregosocialnetwork.com

Maybe I will go into the business of making social networks from home  LOL

Google Analytics Screens

I’ve installed Google Analytics and have verified the status for the site.

http://www.alteregosocialnetwork.com

The thing about Google Analytics that boggles the mind is that once you install it, it really does take like 24 hours for the data to start to stream.  I sat and watched it with a stop watch and never blinked one time.

Here is an example page from the first site where I installed Google Analytics.

I hope the image that I uploaded to the note will appear some how by magic.  This is only the second time I’ve used this wordpress GUI so if the image doesn’t show  up, it’s only because I didn’t click all the correct buttons or enter all the correct form input, or set the categories or make the pages visiable or do WHATEVER this site needs in order to display a stupid image.   It’s all really funny to me.  :D

Alter Ego Social Network Project

Last week on Thursday, I became very interested in actually seeing what Google Analytics  really does for businesses.  When I become interested in something, I never hesitate to seriously and thoroughly experiement.

This experiement is called the “Alter Ego Social Network” and so far, I have seen many things and laughed alot.

I created the Alter Ego Social Network over the weekend of August 10 in order to learn about the Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Google Gadget Developement and everything I could find about about social networking technologies and online advertising platforms.   The entire project cost roughly $500.

I used a NING.com social network template.  NING is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a minute.

Google Analytics is better than all the other analytics platforms that I’ve seen (which is zero).

I will start blogging about using Google Analytics as I receive data from Google AdSense.

I am also following the developement of the Cloud Computing market.  Cloud Computing is an abstract concept that vaugley reminds me of the old days of Grid Computing of 2006-7 but Clould Computing flat out puts Grid Computing to SHAME. IMHO
