Social Networking As a business

If your goal is to create a new Social Network (or maybe a bunch of them), becoming a social networker seems like the logical thing to do (in my mind). – If  you disagree, tell me why.  I’m interested in hearing the reasoning.
The question I started asking myself is “how easy would it be to create a an actual Social Network.  Is it so easy that a kindergartner could do it?”
Turns out the answer is probably NOT: “Yes – it is so easy that a kindergartner could do it”  But maybe a fourth grader could.  Are you smarter than a fourth grader?  I’m a NOT good comedian so I always make jokes like that.
The Alter Ego Social Network project is a test implementation for creating a social network.  The hope is that it is a success which will lead to more opportunities to developed similar if not completely different types of social Networks.
The experiment been underway for just about a week and so far, this is the only serious source of information about it
In the past week, I have signed up for accounts on the following sites.
facebook.com, myspace.com, twitter.com,  google.com, amazon.com, youtube.com, ning.com and some other sites.
